Client: Minnesota Department of Human Services
“We Focus on People-Not Programs” is the mission statement for Minnesota’s Department of Human Services. However, focusing on the needs of vulnerable people is difficult without ready access to data about them. The workload of DHS units has increased while budget cuts have eaten away at available resources. Without up-to-date, detailed, and accurate information, licensing and treatment decisions can suffer.
MentorMate worked to make information available in a precise, powerful and labor-efficient way by using handheld computers. Now, licensors are issued handheld units loaded with checklists, and information is gathered on-site. The information is integrated into the central database for analysis and decision-making. The State of Minnesota saves time and provides better service to those who need it most—all while staying within the confines of its budget.
